Dutroux and the names of the 30 dead witnesses

1. Jean Van Peteghem: An accomplice of Dutroux who was convicted alongside him in 1989 and died in a traffic accident in 1991. 

2. Serge Dutroux: The brother of Marc Dutroux, who committed suicide in 1993. 

3. Jean-Pol Taminiau: Owner of a warehouse where stolen cars were traded and where accomplices of Dutroux worked; he died in 1995. 

4. Alexandre Gosselin: A neighbor of Bernard Weinstein in Jumet who died after a failed operation shortly after the abduction of Julie and Mélissa. 

5. François Reyskens: Died under suspicious circumstances in 1995. 

6. Guy Goebel: A gendarme who committed suicide in 1995. 

7. Bruno Tagliaferro: A car dealer who had ties to Dutroux's circle and died from possible cyanide poisoning. 

8. Bernard Weinstein: A French accomplice of Dutroux who was murdered by Dutroux himself and buried in his garden. 

9. Simon Poncelet: A judicial police inspector in Mons who was shot dead while investigating fraud cases in which the gang around Dutroux was mentioned.

10. Michel Binon: An old acquaintance of Dutroux who committed suicide in 1996.

11. Michel Piro: A bar owner in Charleroi who was murdered. 

12. Jean-Marc Houdmont: Died in a traffic accident considered suspicious by some. 

13. Joseph Toussaint: A chaplain in the Jamioulx prison who knew Dutroux and Martin and died of a heart attack. 

14. Christian Coenraets: An acquaintance of Bernard Weinstein who died in 1996. 

15. José Steppe: An antique dealer and alleged informant who claimed to have incriminating videos of the network and died under suspicious circumstances. 

16. Virginie Pinon: The granddaughter of a car dealer who claimed that Dutroux had tried to abduct her; she died at a young age. 1

7. Gérard Vannesse: A gendarme who had contacts with the gang and died in 1996. 

18. Anna Konjevoda: A woman whose home was visited by possible accomplices of Dutroux; she died in 1995. 

19. Gina Pardaens Bernaer: An activist who investigated child pornography networks and died after a suspicious car accident.

20. Fabienne Jaupart: The widow of Bruno Tagliaferro who allegedly had information about her husband's involvement; she died in 1999. 

21. Hubert Massa: The Liège prosecutor who led the investigation into Dutroux's escape and committed suicide. 

22. Grégory Antipine: An inspector who was involved in sensitive sub-files. 

23. Sandra Claeys: Witness who came into contact with Dutroux's circle. 

24. Henriette Puers: The mother of Michelle Martin, who was allegedly kept under the influence of medication and died in 2000. 

25. Klaus Bahr: A porn dealer who died in a traffic accident in 2000. 

26. Jean-Jacques Feront: A "pedophile hunter" who claimed to have information about the whereabouts of the missing children and died of a heart attack. 

27. Nadège Renard: An important source for the family of Jean-Pol Taminiau, who died in 2000. 

28. Pierre-Paul De Rycke: Owner of a notorious club and acquaintance of Michel Nihoul, who committed suicide. 

29. Philippe Deleuze: A lawyer and politician who had ties to Nihoul and died of an illness shortly before he was due to testify. 

30. Brigitte Jenart: Her death was brought to the attention of the investigators by the author himself.

Referring to Dutroux and the book by Douglas De Coninck. The book "30 Témoins Morts" (original title: "Dode Getuigen" (Dead Witnesses")) by investigative journalist Douglas De Coninck concerns thirty people who played a role in or around the investigation into Marc Dutroux, but who died before or during the trial under suspicious or remarkable circumstances. De Coninck originally began his investigation with a list of 18 people, but this list eventually grew to thirty witnesses who could no longer speak at the trial. 

The thirty witnesses referred to in the book are the persons mentioned above.
