Wikipedia: Reiner Fuellmich (born 1958 in Bremen) is a German former lawyer and spokesman for the Corona Investigative Committee, a non-governmental investigative committee based in Germany. He allegedly played an important role in proving the Volkswagen emissions scandal according to himself, and successfully sued Deutsche Bank where he previously worked, in a few small mortgage cases. In 2020, Fuellmich and his colleagues began documenting what they consider to be violations of law, medical malpractice, and scientific fraud, in connection with what they refer to as the "COVID-19 scandal."

In September 2022, Viviane Fischer, a partner with Fuellmich on the "Corona Investigative Committee" alleged that Fuellmich had embezzled funds raised for the committee by overbilling for his legal services. Fuellmich denied the allegations and claimed that they were politically motivated in order to sabotage this committee and its investigation of so-called deep state involvement in the global COVID-19 response. An arrest warrant was issued in March 2023, when Fuellmich was in Mexico. Later in October, he was extradited to Germany and then arrested. In April 2025, he was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison. His licence to practise law was revoked.

Breaking News – Dr Reiner Fuellmich Loses Appeal 

The German Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe (BGH) has dismissed the appeal lodged by lawyer and Corona Investigative Committee founder Dr Reiner Fuellmich.

The date on the judgement is 17 March 2026. It is unclear whether this is a typographical error or whether the judgement has been 'shelved' for five months. 

Although further details of the judgement are yet to be released, the Federal Court has upheld the ruling of the district court in Göttingen, where from January 2024 until the end of April 2025 dozens of court hearings took place. Göttingen sentenced Fuellmich to three years and nine months' imprisonment.

At the time of the lower court's verdict, Fuellmich had already spent one and a half years in pre-trial detention. The court in Göttingen decided not to deduct five of the eighteen months of pre-trial detention from Fuellmich's prison sentence. 

As grounds for this unprecedented move, the district courted declared that Fuellmich had behaved inappropriately during the hearings and whilst in prison. In addition, Göttingen ignored the fact that Fuellmich had spent six months in solitary confinement, was shackled and chained during his transportation to and from court, while being guarded by heavily armed guards.

Fuellmich's lawyer, Katja Wörmer, received the judgement on the evening of 18 August. The date on the judgement is 17 March 2026. Wörmer is investigating whether this is a typographical error or whether the judgement has in fact been delayed by five months.
