Cannabis Shrinks Tumors (1974)
This is probably the first study ever to show that cannabis has anti-tumor properties. This study was also originally intended to demonstrate the dangers of the cannabis plant. In particular, the alleged harmful effects on the immune system.
The study was funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA); an institute against drug abuse. The American Cancer Society also paid for it. Part of the study was implanting tumors in mice that were then given THC for 10 days. Probably to show that THC makes cancer grow faster. But the opposite happened.
When the study was published in The Journal of the National Cancer Institute, it found that tumor size decreased in mice given THC and CBN for 20 consecutive days.

Australian Mother Beats Terminal Cancer With THC Oil
